For the second consecutive year Gwynfa has won the Ace of Clubs competition. It is only the second time in our history we have won this trophy and once again we go on to represent the WPF in the National DPI Championships at Warwick in the summer.
In this competition three judges score up to 5 points each so the scores are out of 15. Our scores were consistent throughout with just one photograph scoring scoring below double figures. However the majority scored 11, 12 or 13 and, in the final round of 15 photographs (which decides the final positions), we averaged a whisker above 12 for each image finishing on 182 points and therefore pipping Bridgend by just 2 points. Tenby were third on 179, Inn Focus fourth on 176.
The plate competition (for clubs who didn’t get into the final ‘top eight’ play off) was initially won by Swansea but they withdrew from the competition after noticing they had misinterpreted the rules. This left Llanelli as the winners.
Further information will follow.
