Harbour Lights, Porthcawl 25th July 2024. We’ll be asking you to take five photos on five subjects!

From 6pm, we’ll be based at the Harbour Lights bar/restaurant Hi-Tide, Mackworth Road, Porthcawl, Porthcawl CF36 5BT. Hi-Tide has an onsite free car park and you can turn up at anytime. Just allow yourself time to take your five photos and to have a bite to eat and a drink. (Eating is not compulsory but it would be nice if we gave our hosts some decent business. They have been really helpful).
When you arrive, you’ll be given the five subjects and you can then wander-off around Porthcawl (or further afield if you wish) to take your pictures.
Full instructions will be provided on the night but your five images will later need to be email to us by Sunday 31st so we can get them you our judge in good time. Basic editing is allowed (such as cropping, noise reduction, saturation, contract, levels, cloning etc.) but we’d like the images to be fairly representative of what you saw on the night.
The images will be judged the following week, Thursday 1st August, at the New Inn in Llantrisant from 8.30pm. If you can’t make it there, the results will also be published in a Gwynfa newsletter shortly thereafter. There will be five category winners and an overall winner with the best panel of five images. The judge has yet to be selected but it won’t be Leigh this year.
