Gwynfa Finished Joint Second in Port Talbot Battle

Gwynfa had another good night in the third running of Port Talbot’s annual battle, although Vale came first with 73 points Gwynfa were joint second with Wakefield and Swansea on 70 points.

In a competition which included several successful salon entries three prints achieved a maximum 20 points including Dave Lingham’s ‘Chorus Line’.  Bob Beynon’s ‘Meadow Brown Butterfly’ scored 17, Mark Mumford’s, ‘Tracey M’s Unmade Bed’ got 16 and Alec Stewart’s ‘Intimidation’ scored 17.

The other clubs involved were, Towy Valley, Merthyr Tydfil, South Yorkshire Police, Neath, Morriston, Abertawe, Tenby and the hosts Port Talbot who shared 5th place with Merthyr.

The Judge was Les Loosemore. The buffet was excellent and the raffle prizes were numerous.
