Gwynfa finished joint 5th in the Plate final at the National PDI Championships at Warwick. We qualified by winning the WPF Ace of Clubs back in February.
This is a great achievement as 5th in the Plate means that we finished joint 13th overall against the best 41 clubs in the UK. We also finished as top Welsh club ahead of Bridgend, Mold and Beaumaris & Menai Bridge. (Note, the top 8 clubs after rounds 1 and 2 go into the final, the other 33 clubs contest the plate).
The event was judged by Steven LePrevost FRPS MPAGB AFIAP FIPF (SCPF), Sue Sibley ARPS DPAGB EFIAP/s BPE4 (SCPF) and Libby Smith MPAGB EFIAP HonPAGB HonSPF (SPF).
The Plate Final scores were:
1st = Doncaster Camera Club 102
2nd = Smethwick Photographic Society 100
2nd = Beyond Group 100
2nd = Oldham Photographic Society 100
5th = Keswick Photographic Society 99
5th = Gwynfa Camera Club 99
5th = Bristol Photographic Society 99
5th = Nottingham and Notts Photographic Society 99
One more point and we’d have equalled our best result of 2nd in the Plate Final.
