Gwynfa wins ‘The Stan’ again in 2015

Excellent day out at the Stanley Chell in Aberdare today. Well, I would say that really as Gwynfa Camera Club once again won the Stanley Chell Cup as well as  two other invididual awards that were won by Margot Rowlands and Leigh Woolford. It was our 3rd victory in four years and it was neck and neck all the way with Tenby Camera Club! Here are the top places..

1st place – Gwynfa – 77 points (20 – 20 – 18 – 19)
2nd place – Tenby – 76 points (20 – 20 – 18 – 18)
3rd place – Inn Focus – 72 points (18 – 17 – 17 – 20)

Six 20’s were given out all in all. The other club to receive a 20 was Vale Photographic.
The Hans Hover Trophy – Best Monochrome Print went to Tenby with The Orphanage by Dave Bolton.
The Glyn John Trophy – Best Colour Print went to Inn Focus with Halfpenny Penalty by Gareth Jenkins.
The Glan and Mair Trophy – Best Landscape Print went to Gwynfa with Grasses and Dunes by Leigh Woolford.
The Doris Chell Memorial Trophy – Best Image went to Gwynfa with Brown Eyed Girl by Margot Rowlands.

Thanks to the judge Peter McCloskey FRPS APAGB who did a fantastic job and also to Aberdare Camera Club for putting on an excellent and very successful event and lovely buffet.
