It is with enormous sadness that we announce the passing of our fellow member Gwynfryn Jones after a long illness.
Gwynfryn has been a member of Gwynfa since 2010 and during that time achieved many successes in the Club and continued to do so right up until December 2023 when he won our Picture of the Year for the very first time.
His successes include:

The Jim Davis Trophy – 2021
The President’s Trophy – 2013, 2016 & 2023
The Freespirit Images Shield – 2015, 2016 & 2019
The Colin Williams Trophy – 2017, 2018 & 2021
The Colour Challenge – 2016 & 2021
Gwynfryn also achieved an AFIAP distinction in 2013 and his CPAGB in 2015. He also had other competition wins, salon successes and awards too numerous to list.
But far more importantly than all that, Gwynfryn was a lovely man liked by everyone and he will be sorely missed.
Gwynfryn’s funeral will be held at 2pm on Monday 12th February at Thornhill Cemetary, Wenallt Chapel, Thornhill Road, Rhiwbina, Cardiff, CF14 9UA. If using satnav please use the postcode CF14 6RG.
